ENCORE EPISODE
Scott Latty knows how it feels being misunderstood with ADHD. He also knows that ADHD itself is misunderstood. He’s out to change that by producing a film that will help people connect with that pain.
Scott shares with me details about his life which, are pretty common for folks with ADHD. He has trouble focusing, attending to details, and engaging with mundane tasks.
Yet, there’s a spark of genius shining brilliantly when the focus is on something interesting.
That’s why he knows getting this movie out there is important. It’s a big goal, but thinking big is something he’s really good at!
Scott’s Awesome Quote:
“ADHD is not a virus,
it’s not a disease, it’s
nothing to be afraid of.”
Misunderstood with ADHD
Scott recounts the feeling of never being understood. He explains, that even in how he expresses himself at times can be frustrating; hence, the title of his film, Misunderstood.
Although he knows that on occasion he comes off as argumentative, on the inside he’s thinking, “Listen to what I’m saying,” because he wants to be heard.
The misunderstandings that come from missing social cues and a having a racy mind can take their toll, but he keeps up a good attitude as he shares stories from his life.
Although the film never speaks of ADHD, it is the underlying issue, Scott says. His message is about acceptance. ADHD and other mental conditions should not invalidate a person.
Please go visit Scott on Facebook and let him know you heard him here because he wants to know what your thoughts are on what he’s doing or, better yet, ask how you can help him.
